NOTE FROM ARTISTIC DIRECTOR OCTAVIO CAMPOS |
|
To all Camposition audience members, fans, stake holders and progressive folk stumbling upon this web page, I want to take this moment to thank you for taking the time to visit the site and to read this note. 2008 - 2009 was a great artistic year but a difficult one for the organization. Many of you have written emails wondering what happened to Camposition and my work after almost 4 years of consistently producing and captivating audiences here in Miami Dade County and beyond. This past year has been a bit of a hiatus for the company but after having this year off, I am ready once again to create and will be producing some new work so stay tuned. There are some super exciting collaborations in the horizon which will be announced in the Fall of 2010 so hold on to your hats. Once again THANKS to all of you that have supported us these past four years. So many wonderful people to thank, artists, stake holders, companies, institutes, foundations, governments, organization and generous landlords who have once again proven to me that Camposition is a platform for new work that will continue to offer the community at large subversive entertainment that challenges the status quo. I especially want to thank our supporters: Miami Dade County Cultural Affairs Coucil, Michael Spring, The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami Dade County, New World School of the Arts, Florida International University, Miami Light Project, Tigertail Productions, The City of Miami Beach and the Cultural Arts Council, Gary Farmer, Anchor Arts Management, Gary Lund, Eric Fliss, Justin Macdonell, Elaiza Irrizary, Stephanie Ansin, Marc Levin, Florida Arts Council, Inkub8, Heather Maloney, Cristina Maldonado, The Macdowell Colony, Circ X, Natasha Tsakos, Michael Yawney, Merry Jo Pitasi, Adam Best, Becky Flowers, The National Performance Network, Miami Contemporary Dance, Ray Sullivan, Karin Bejerano, Celeste Fraiser-Delgado, Jordan Levin, Neli Santamarina, Tinta y Cafe, ALL THE ACTORS AND DESIGNERS of 1,000 HOMOSEXUALS, ALL FORMER performers and artists that have worked with me in the past and everyone else that I might have left of this list.
