THE FIELD | MIAMI

Fieldwork Miami is a 6 – WEEK workshop for ANY emerging, mid-career or established performing artist interested in the development of new work.

Camposition is dedicated to the development of new work and the professional development from Miami based artists. We are delighted to once again host FieldWork Miami.

FieldWork Miami has a long successful history beginning with Miami Light Project in 1992, in 2005 with Artemis and since 2006 with Camposition. Over 100 artists have participated in Fieldwork including critically acclaimed artists Teo Castellanos, Rafael Roig, Heather Maloney, Bill Spring, Dinorah de Jesus Rodriguez, Becky Flowers, Jillian Mayer and many others.

At each meeting, participants present their works-in-progress and exchange feedback artist to artist. Guided by a facilitators OCTAVIO CAMPOS and BILL SPRING discussions are incisive and stimulating. The Fieldwork feedback structure reveals how the artist’s work is perceived by others and provides detailed information that helps participants hone their vision. By focusing discussions on what’s happening in the work and how those choices shape the work, the Fieldwork method supports the authorship of each artist. This workshop culminates in an informal showing open to the public at Miami’s new performance space, The SandBox, located at 9816 NE 2nd AVE, Miami Shores, FL 33138.

The next Fieldwork session will begin on Saturday March 3, 2012 - from 12PM-3PM.
Subsequent sessions are March , 10, 17, 24, 31, April 7, 2012. Each of these Saturday session will be held at The SandBox, located at 9816 NE 2nd AVE, Miami Shores, FL 33138.

Field Day Performance is scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 8PM.

On March 24, 2012 - There will be a specially designed Professional Development Session for the Artists on how to find opportunities for funding work followed by a workshop by an internationally recognized theater company visiting Miami.

Space is limited to 10 artists per session. The fee for the FieldWork Miami session is $150.00.
Partial Scholarships are available.

A 50% non-refundable deposit will be due prior to the start of the workshop. Spots will not be secured without a deposit. Artists are encouraged to register and send deposit as soon as possible since participation is based on a first come, first served basis.
