Alexander Technique shows performers how to change habitual patterns that cause immobility and stress. As a result of using Alexander Technique, many longstanding performance issues, such as, stiff arms, a thrust forward neck or a lack of energy in the legs, are resolved. Discovering how our bodies release, expand and contract allows for grounding and centering, a few inches in height and an understanding of how to work with the whole self. Beginning with a foundation in the Alexander Technique, exploratory activities using Status, Authentic Movement, Neutral Mask and Grotowski technique will offer performers many movement choices and greater trust in risk.
