Please Don't Hate Me! is a series of transdisciplinary performances and events inspired by the hate that rips at the fabric of homes, communities and the world. Each performance will point to exquisitely artistic, yet provocative, solutions - expressed by a mash up of Miami-centric dance theater productions and site-specific performance installations.

The intent of PDHM is for its resulting artworks to promote unity in South Florida by transforming INTOLERANCE into ACCEPTANCE and to challenge EVERYBODY to find the ACTIONIST within themselves to create a catalyst for social change.

SWITCHBOARD OF MIAMI

PDHM is partnering with Switchboard, Miami's 24 hour information referral and crisis counseling hotline. Excess revenues raised by PDHM will go to assist Switchboard by doing networking, public outreach and providing administrative and wellness support throughout the year.

(Dial 211) Switchboard is a 24 hour Information & Referral and crisis counseling helpline that can be reached fom any phone in Florida 365 days a year. Calls are free and confidential. Switchboard is funded primarily by the United Way and The Children's Trust, as well as many foundations, grantors and private donations. Private donations have declined by 50% every year during the last 3 consecutive years due to the economy, putting Switchboard in a position of having to place most of its administrative staff on part time unpaid furlough. A nonprofit with a $4 million budget, it is the crucial link between over 180,000 callers each year and over 5,000 social services providers in South Florida. It handles nationwide calls from 1-800-SUICIDE, and overflow calls from crisis centers from throughout the US. It is critical for Switchboard to remain viable.
